There’s no mistaking the nationality of this place—the soft green walls, hanging posters, tiled floors and placemats on the table all proudly scream “Francais.” Saint-Germain (no doubt named after the eponymous district in Paris) is opened by the same folks behind heavy-hitter Pastis on Wyndham Street, and is just as full of Parisian charm as its sister outlet.

There are two indoor playrooms at the Wong Nai Chung Complex in Happy Valley. One of the play areas caters for kids under 4, the other for 4- to 9-year-olds. The best thing about this government playroom is that it’s completely free of charge, and there is no need to schedule or register your child. The playroom for tiny tots is lined with colorful plastic mats and all the equipment is made of soft foam, from the slides and climbing stairs to the underwater-themed play equipment.
This is a classy hangout without the pretension of a hotel-level Japanese restaurant. It’s private and obscure without feeling excluded. Designed by the people behind Hei Hei and Why Club, the interior is “contemporary Zen”—calming beige with sleek lines and bright lighting. There’s a sushi bar in one corner and a teppanyaki bar in another. The owners have been in the biz for years and have connections to fishermen that bypass fish suppliers, so you can’t get fresher than that.
