Mainland China has sent its first woman into space, and now the buzz is they’ll send a Hongkonger up next. That got us thinking of a brave new world: Hong Kong in space. What might that be like?

  • Air con turned super high because of all the solar wind
  • Shuttle 69X
  • Astronaut helmets retrofitted with an artificial atmosphere laced with heavy metals to better simulate conditions back home
  • Failing to become an astronaut becomes a great new way to permanently disappoint parents
  • Moon torn down and replaced with cluster of office blocks
  • Secret wine cellar discovered in basement of Henry Tang’s terraformed asteroid
  • "Space walks" replaced with "space cab rides even though it's just 50 meters"
  • Prometheus Garden Estates
  • Haters complaining to Central government that Hongkongers are mature enough for space, but not enough for democracy
  • Aggressively pushing “door close” on space elevator
  • Mooncakes renamed “cakes”
  • Satellite exclusively tracking Cantopop star wardrobe malfunctions finally launched
  • Special area of space blocked off with velvet rope for VIPs
  • Tsui Wah in Space = freeze-dried milk tea!
  • Probably someone would take a picture
