At times it’s easy to believe that the cosmopolitan streets of Hong Kong have been taken over by a yapping army of furriness on stumpy legs—brown poodles, miniature schnauzers, corgis, dachshunds and (possibly with the highest concentration of fluffiness) Pomeranians. The list is endless and, at the same time, seems to be ever growing. But have you wondered what happens to the pooches that get mistreated or abandoned by careless owners?

Perhaps you want to know the best dog-walking routes or where you can find the ultimate grooming experience for your loyal friend?

Having begun with just two published editions of the Woof Guide, Hong Kong based writers and canine lovers Ali, Caz and Padstow have now created their own go-to- place for absolutely everything dog related. From adoption information, vets, grooming accessories, even for dog-friendly restaurants and bars (perhaps it might lead to a romantic Lady and Tramp spaghetti moment?).

Best of all, the profits made from the website go straight to the SPCA and other animal welfare charities in Hong Kong.

This website is to help promote better dog ownership and to improve the chances of abandoned dogs finding a happy permanent abode. From the sounds of it, the Woofguide trio won’t stop “until every rescue finds a home”.
