Renowned Beijing-based Chinese artist Yue Minjun brings his iconic laughing faces to Hong Kong for the first time. In this exhibition consisting of silk-screen paintings, Yue takes the classical philosophical text "Tao Te Ching" as inspiration, advocating laughter as a path to inner peace. In addition to the gallery exhibition, some of Yue's sculptural works will also be displayed at Ocean Terminal's forecourt from Sept 24 to Oct 14.

French graphic artist Romain Jacquet‐Lagrèze became interested in photography while living in Los Angeles and Tokyo, inspired by constantly growing skyscrapers which he terms "the architectural race to the sky." This inspiration has understandably found a home here in Hong Kong, and "Vertical Horizon" is a collection of his snaps since living here, showing the colors and dimensions of our towering skyline from unusual and striking angles. It's like if "Pan's Labyrinth" crawled onto canvas.

Mark your calendar. It's been 50 years since the French poet, painter, filmmaker and actor Jean Cocteau passed away, and still his legacy in the art world looms large. This major exhibition includes 230 distinct works by the man himself and those he called friends, associates, or who were just inspired by his output: Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Amedeo Modigliani and Andy Warhol, to name a few. The works on display should impress both admirers and newcomers to Cocteau, including...
