With multiple world-class speakers and an audience from different industries discussing new concepts and ideas about the new world order, this event hopes to bring about real change.
TED is a nonprofit organization with the tagline “ideas worth spreading” that originally started as a four-day conference in California 25 years ago. TEDx events are local, self-organised events that bring people together in order to share a TED-like experience. The yearly conferences allow world leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes to a live audience, with their talks made available afterwards on TED.com.
Previous TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Al Gore, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Isabel Allende and UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown. The speakers this year at TEDxMongKong (organised by Workforce Innovation) will include Dr. Sheena Iyengar, Chandran Nair, Eric Knight, Tomi T. Ahonen, Zhang Lijia, Andrew Ma, Peter Davison and Jared King.
This TEDx event is open to anyone on the 24th of May from 11am to 6pm. This event will be held at the Mira Hong Kong Hotel, 118 Nathan Rd., Tsim Sha Tsui. For more information on TED check out the official TEDxMongkok website.
