The buzz: Pierre Balmain—with its rock ‘n’ roll, glam sensibility—can be considered the rebellious little sister of historic elegant fashion house Balmain. Now we’ve got the first Pierre Balmain mono-brand store in the city since the line’s launch last year. In a nutshell, it takes Parisian street style and kicks it up a notch

The goods: Think underground indie rocker chic with a grungy edge and some French twists—and you get quintessential Pierre Balmain. Since it’s Balmain’s secondary line, the price range is relatively more affordable, so you’ll be able to pick up a pair of cropped boyish skinny trousers or a narrow jacket with biker-like details with no regrets.

The décor: Designed by In Situ and Partners and Balmain Paris’s art director Frank Durand, the new boutique feels like a 1940s Parisian apartment. At the same time, brass balusters and a marble floor with diagonal wooden tiles give the geometric space a sleek, modern look.
