Shopping is close to many a Hongkonger’s heart so watch out for this charity’s Handbag Auction, which is held every autumn. Dozens of new and pre-owned designer bags are up for grabs with bids starting as low as $200. All proceeds go to the charity, which was set up in 1991 to help Hong Kong children and adolescents suffering from diabetes mellitus and their families. Other donations are, of course, welcome throughout the year.
