With a thoughtful gift picked out for mom it’s now time to book the requisite Mother’s Day meal. From brunches and dinners to tapas and cooking classes, there’s no lack of choice when it comes to pampering the special lady this Mother’s Day. Read on for our picks.
Start the day with a nice long lunch or brunch with mom at one of these restaurants below.
Wooloomooloo Prime
Treat mom to a relaxing brunch at Wooloomooloo Prime with a selection of decadent treats such as smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with shaved truffles. Other specialities include lobster Benedict and crepe suzette. An all-inclusive drinks package will also be on offer for $198 per person including prosecco, Geoff Merrill rosé, Penfolds red and white wine and non-alcoholic drinks.

TOTT’s and Roof Terrace
Seafood champagne brunch buffet and a live band? Sold.TOTT’s will be offering everything from lobster to freshly shucked oysters as well as a wide array of hot items, prepared by executive sous chef James Williams. The buffet costs $748 per adult, including unlimited Billecart-Salmon champagne.

Bloom
Celebrate Mother’s day at Bloom with an appetizer and dessert buffet complete with chocolate fountain (choose your main from a list), priced at $650 for adults and with unlimited mimosas for an additional $100. There will also be a caricature artist sketching out portraits for mom and the family.

Tapas Bar
Tapas Bar at the Kowloon Shangri-la will be offering a tapas brunch with an array of fresh oysters, Spanish-inspired breakfast items, freshly sliced Iberico and Serrano ham, salads and more. The brunch costs $428 per head, but wine-lovers can opt for a fine wine package for an additional $150 or $280 for the sommelier’s selection.

Jashan
Jashan will be offering a Mother’s Day brunch buffet of over 20 dishes all for
$148 per person, including signature dishes from India such as lamb shank curry and tandoori chicken. In a separate event, Jashan will also be offering sons and daughters a chance to show-off their cooking skills to mom, with a cooking course led by executive chef Asif Iqbal. Participants will learn how to cook dishes from the Mother’s Day menu, like an aloo gosht ka saalan (lamb and potato curry) or butter chicken—then serve them straight to mom. A desserts platter and two drinks will also be included. Classes will be held at Jashan between 3 to 6pm on Mother’s Day, all for $298 per person. Dinner will be served from 6:30pm.

Cuisine Cuisine
Available on only May 12 and May 13, this Michelin-starred restaurant will be featuring all new dishes, such as deep–fried crispy chicken with osmanthus sauce, sautéed prawns with lemongrass and roses, braised sliced abalone with seasonal vegetables and bamboo piths and sweetened almond cream with bird’s nest.
Prices are $7,880 for six people and $5,880 for four people.

Hoi King Heen
From now until May 13, Hoi King Heen will be serving special lunch and dinner menus for families of four to 12, prepared by Michelin-starred chef Leung Fai-hung. The finest Chinese delicacies will be on offer, from deep-fried pork spare ribs with honey, prune and sesame sauce to baked stuffed crabmeat with coconut sauce. Prices start from $2,600 for four people, and every mother will be given a carnation as gift.

Kaetsu
Opt for something a little different this Mother’s Day and treat mom to a traditional Japanese set menu prepared by chef Takeda including tuna, sea bream, salmon, yellow tail and scallop sashimi; deep-fried shrimp dumplings with Japanese pepper and tomato sauce and grilled US wagyu beef with miso paste in houba leaf. This special Mother’s Day set dinner is from 6:30pm to 10:30pm for $1,250 per person.
