When we heard about Brim 28, a series of alfresco restaurants located on the mezzanine floor of Causeway Centre, we scheduled our next sunny Sunday afternoon to be spent at DiVino Patio, which recently opened there. Not in the most accessible location for a lazy weekend meal, the entire terrace was relatively empty, so with the exception of a couple families and a large party seated inside, we had our choice of comfortable outside tables.

We found the menu (of braised beef cheek, roast chicken, pasta) a bit heavy for an early Sunday meal and in the end decided to keep it simple and just order two mains: parma pizza and grilled salmon steak. The lightly sauced tomato-based thin crust pizza was topped with a generous helping of both fresh arugula and the paper thin, soft prosciutto, but sadly the mozzarella was MIA—or perhaps there just wasn’t enough compared to the other ingredients. Our salmon served with French beans was the perfect dish for anyone looking for a healthy and light Italian lunch. The two pieces of juicy, pink salmon fell apart as soon as we dug in, but the outside could have been slightly more charred in our opinion. With delicious dishes, an attentive wait staff and a terrace similar to the popular Knutsford Terrace in TST (although nowhere near as crowded), we can see ourselves back at DiVinio Patio for dinner, drinks or a weekend lunch when we’re looking to get away from the usual craziness of Central. This is definitely a place you can pull up a chair and stay for a while.
