The food at this four-month old teppanyaki restaurant is good. Sadly, it’s the unforgettable service, rather than the delicious dried blowfish or tasty rib eye, which we’ll remember. It started with a debate among the staff trying to ascertain our readiness to order, which took place right behind us. When the manager finally came over, he nodded after every item we asked for, but didn’t write anything down, only to return five minutes later to ask us to repeat our order. The wait was lengthy: there’s only one chef who cooks all the courses per table, before moving onto the next. When the dishes finally arrived, there were hits and misses. The cod was too garlicky and unsalted, but the shrimp (in place of the scallops we had actually ordered) were nice. The final straw was when we realized we had over-ordered and tried to cancel our last item. The friendly manager assured us it was no problem, before turning around and calling us crazy under his breath. Tasty though the food may be, we would suggest holding off until the training wheels come off in the service department.
