At first glance, this sushi spot may seem a little on the small side, but its cozy, unremarkable, wooden interior provides just the right backdrop for an authentic Japanese dining experience. Unlike the sushi you find in supermarkets and fast food Japanese chains, the fish here is undeniably fresh. With experienced Sushi Chef Imamaru Takeyuki at the sushi bar, you’re in good hands; he adds a personal touch by recommending the catch of the day to customers. Grab a seat at the bar and watch the master at work. Then kick off your meal with a deluxe sushi set, which leaves a dent in your wallet, but is well worth the price: The mouth-watering fish will render you speechless and their homemade soya sauce is a sweet, light and delicious accompaniment. The Dassai Jumai Daiginjyo perfectly complements the sushi, bringing out the natural oils of the fish. The assistant chef reminded us of the seven-second rule - great sushi should be consumed seven seconds after it’s made - so be sure to expect speedy service.
