If Star Street is for hipsters, nearby Sun Street is for hippies. Well, not really, given the quaint, leafy thoroughfare also houses a Kapok boutique and an expensive vintage furniture store—but Naturo+ is helping the cause. Through her part-grocery store, part-restaurant, owner Ellen Leung is dead set on bringing in local and far-flung socially-conscious foods: yak cheese (kinda similar to halloumi) from Tibet, organic wines, wild honey from free-roaming bees in Yunnan, and coffee and spices from Pacific archipelago Tonga. Naturo+ serves hot lunches and dinners with natural and organic meat, vegetables and grains from Monday to Friday, with a brunch option on Saturday. For dessert, you can try cheesecake made from the yak’s milk. On a recent night the lamb chops were juicy, the potatoes hearty and the vegetables fresh. Other options include pestoed spaghetti, Thai curried vegetables and grilled garoupa. While you’re chowing down, congratulate yourself for supporting a small business that hosts events like last week’s charity sale to raise money for Hong Kong Dog Rescue—at which free drinks were served and every pup in the neighborhood was feted.
