Despite a forbiddingly dark and mirrored exterior, this Italian seafood restaurant is a fairly casual, though sophisticated affair. Decked out with velvety sofas of an ergonomic turn and shades of red and that deep gray most often reserved for classy older ladies, Oceanna is a comfy place for a cozy dinner and coffee. The menu is pretty creative with items like a shrimp-avocado-walnut oil angel hair salad alongside the usual Caesar salads, baked snails and so on. We ordered the angel hair and a beef carpaccio, both reasonable, but nothing to put on the must-order-again list. The mains are comprised of all manner of seafood, steak and pasta (yep, no pizzas), but we fell prey to the prettily worded, averagely tasting shrimp and scallop linguini and pumpkin risotto accompanied by roasted duck breast. The low point of the meal arrived when the waiter attempted to remove my half-finished plate of food for the third time. A sharp-toned “No!” did not stop his colleague from craning a neck over the privacy wall to double-confirm that we indeed were not finished with our food. All in all, a slightly high price to pay even for a reasonably pleasant Italian meal.
