Xi Yan’s third branch in Causeway Bay adheres to an Asian mix-and-match ethos, and although dishes like lemongrass iced tea are not for everyone, there’s an adventurous menu ideal for bored diners desperate for something new. Food is average but not awful, with a few too many tofu dishes that are easily available in supermarkets. The black sesame ice-cream was a surprise, as it was a tad bitter and much less milky than usual – much better than usual. A delightful cool dinner for a hot summer night.
