Famous Cantonese Guest Chef Prepares Dim Sum at Hotel Icon

Hotel Icon welcomes renowned Cantonese Master Chef Qui Wei Go from Guangzhou’s White Swan hotel to prepare cuisines for two weeks at its Chinese restaurant, Above & Beyond.

Located in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui, Hotel Icon is a hotel designed by celebrated architects Terence Conran, Rocco Yim, and William Lim, known for its modern and international environment, open space, and its vertical garden. Above & Beyond, the Chinese restaurant of Hotel Icon located on the 28th floor, is particularly known for its panoramic view of the Victoria Harbour and the availability of private rooms.

From July 2-15, Chef Qui Wei Go and his team will serve an array of traditional Cantonese dim sum for guests at Above & Beyond.

Ranked among the top ten outstanding Chefs in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau, Chef Qui is renowned for his award-winning dim sum, adding his own unique touches to the basics of traditional Guanxi dim sum. He has earned many titles, awards, and recognition for his cuisine, including a gold medal at the “Guangzhou International Food Festival,” title as well as “100 Pairs of Skillful Hands” in Guangzhou, a nomination in the “World Champion of Chinese Cuisine, Mainland China” contest, and many more. He has previously served politicians, celebrities, and royalty, including Chinese diplomat Deng Xiaoping, Queen Elizabeth II, and former US President George W. Bush.

During his stay, Chef Qiu will prepare a series of 12 traditional dim sum delicacies, including baked chicken liver pastry, steamed duck’s web with abalone, steamed bun with pork belly and pomelo skin, steamed beef meatball, and deep-fried bananas willed with red bean paste.
