One of the last dai pai dongs left in Hong Kong, Shing Kee is the real deal: no service, no décor, wet concrete floor, and great food at great prices. It’s packed for lunch and only slightly less so for dinner. Apart from the increasingly rare opportunity to eat at these little slices of history, the other reason to visit is fantastic Guangdong cuisine. We ordered giblets with seasonal vegetables (delicious) and boldly went ahead with the boiled pig’s intestines, which were nothing out of the ordinary—unless you’re not used to eating internal organs.

A steamed fish passed the test, perfectly cooked. With the affordable prices and the generous selection, we could have ordered the entire menu.
If you’re in Stanley and in the mood for some seriously good food, this is the place to go. Choosing from a small menu, we started with soft-shell crab with chili chutney, it was amply portioned and delicious. We weren’t sure how the mains could possibly top them, but the pork belly with potatoes and a sort of “cabbage carbonara” was bursting with flavor. In a nutshell, we love Lucy’s.

You may also try feta souffle and ribeye steak in chips for lunch, or shrimp and basil souffle for dinner. In a nutshell, we love Lucy’s.
We love Lucy’s. Tucked into the backstreets of Stanley Market (up the stairs next to Delifrance), this is where locals in the know come for seriously good food. It’s a friendly little place, with terracotta floors, wicker chairs and wafting palms. The Mediterranean-inspired menu is small but perfectly formed, and changes frequently—if it’s available, don’t miss the warm pecan toffee pudding.
This place is so exclusive that it has an electronic face scanner as well as a doorman. (Your concierge may be able to get you on the guest list.) Once inside, there’s a great menu of elaborate cocktails, premium liquors and gourmet snacks in the line of molten chocolate cake and giant shrimp cocktail.
Situated on the 11th floor of a restaurant-stacked building, Donka serves up a hodgepodge of fusionized food—although its Japanesey name might fool you at first.
The arrangement is simple: bare concrete floors, wooden tables and chairs lined up in neat rows, and an open kitchen on the side. We dropped by on a weekend afternoon and found plenty of seats available—maybe not great news for the restaurant, but it was certainly fantastic for us.
Rather than conventional physiotherapy, this center offers clinical and sports massage therapy performed by registered therapists. They work with you to tailor make the treatment your body requires and can treat most sports injuries. A massage we recommend is known as the Sports Massage. This treatment is ideal for sports enthusiasts who want to ease muscle tension or relieve pain and aches. The massage either lasts 60 minutes and costs $800 or is 90 minutes and costs $1,200.
